Bed Bugs Found: Newmarket House, Newmarket, New Hampshire

Residents of the Newmarket House senior living center in Newmarket, New Hampshire are saying that they are dealing with bed bugs more than six months after they first reported the infestation. The first reports were in May of 2011.

Eastpoint Properties stated that they are working closely with a bed bug exterminator on the issue. Recently a trap set by the exterminator had a few bed bugs in it meaning that the bed bugs are still present and moving in the complex. Just 2 weeks prior to finding them in the trap, city health inspectors stated that the building was clear of the bugs. Bed bugs are great at hiding and can reproduce quickly, which makes them particular difficult to get rid of.

This has really effected the social life of the residents. Managers have discouraged resident from visiting other apartments in the complex as well as cancelled social events such as parties and bingo nights.
