Bed Bug Bites

Sleep tight! Don’t let the bed bugs bite!

We’ve all heard the phrase, and we say it to be cute, but in reality, bed bug bites are no laughing matter. They are, in no way, dangerous unless you have a severe allergic reaction to them (which is quite rare) but if you have bed bug bites, you can attest to the fact that they are nothing short of annoying!

It’s important to understand that bed bug bites can be difficult to diagnose. Some doctors even misdiagnose bed bug bites as another skin issue entirely due to the fact that everyone reacts to them differently. Most people find them extremely itchy, and this is a person’s allergic reaction to the chemical that a bed bug bite injects into your skin.

What do bed bug bites look like? Here are some Bedbug Pictures.

The appearance of bed bug bites will vary. No one reacts to a bed bug bite the same way. Some people will notice a rash-like appearance that is raised up and itches. These will appear on one particular area of the skin where the bed bug will focus on. However, others experience little red welts all over the body, and some people may just have whitish, pinkish bumps concentrated in a certain area. It varies from person to person, but a big key to understanding whether they are bed bug bites or not is by knowing when they occurred and what activities you were participating in before you got them. This will help you determine whether they are bites from fleas, mosquitos, spiders or other pests that commonly bite human skin. The symptoms of the bite aren’t enough to tell you what made the bite.

Bedbugs feed at night. If you find the bites seem to have appeared while you are sleeping, I would really look into if you have a bedbug infestation. Has anyone had any bites they thought to be bedbugs, but ended up being another insect? Let us know in the comments.

  1. I have had an allergic reaction to something bitting me at night. I have so many bites and whelps and rash all over me that I have been diagnosed with hives, scabies, bed bugs and chicken poxs. They appear sometimes in threes and occassionally in ones. I have just only found 2 little brown bugs in my bed with in a 5wk span, but use scabies medicine and that has often worked. I bomed my house and mostly all of the bites appeared on my arm at night and I have over 30 bites, but only found two bugs and they ooze clear fluid…I’m questionable!!!

  2. Zeta, c’mon. Call an exterminator. Even if you don’t have bed bugs (though it sounds like you do) you need outside help. Stop suffering.
